Did Gibson make Les Paul 1958 Specials in the colour black?
I am hunting for a nice guitar, and someone has offered me a "black 1958 Special".
I haven't seen it yet. I had a look on the net, but I have only really found sunburst and T
V yellow variations..
Were these made, if so how much were they worth?

Highly unlikely this is an original Special -58. They were never made in black as far as I know (never heard of one). If this happens to be an original (something I doubt very much), then it's a one off custom color and the price would be ridiculously high (like in tens of thousands of dollars).
I will assume it's either a refinished instrument - mostly this ruins the guitar and it's often done because of some structural (non-professional) repairs to the guitar - or it is not a Gibson at all. Are you sure it is no an Epiphone? They have some black Specials, I believe...
If I were you, I would be very, very skeptical. If they claim it's an original and want premium money for it, you will need pictures, serial numbers etc. and have those checked with places like Gruhn Guitars in Nashville.
If they try to pass it on cheap an as an original, you will have to ask yourself this simple question: How come? There are a lot of scammers out there, so be careful...
At least have it checked thoroughly by someone who can look for repairs etc.
