What is the difference between a jazz neck and a p-bass neck?
I'm looking for a replacement on a vintage and saw a mighty mite jazz bass neck and wanted to know if there is any tone difference and what are the differences in size. Thanks
A jazz bass fretboard is more narrow and the neck is a little thicker than a P-bass.
Tone difference is all basically based on the woods used to make the neck.
But chances are if you are playing one or the other and switch you wont really notice a difference.
For me I prefer the jazz bass neck. I have small hands and its nicer for making chords.
Manfred Mann The Mighty Quinn (vintage pop)
