Anyone else think Leslie Neilsen should have played Anakin Skywalker?
Certainly in The Phantom Menace he should have, sure he's a little older than Hayden but hey they can do loads with computers nowadays. He could have had a little flashing light on top of his pod racer as a subtle nod to Police Squad and perhaps OJ could have been persuaded to play Windu? What better way to ease people into the epic Star Wars saga than with some slapstick and non-sequitar visual gags?
Considering Lucas himself made I-III a total joke, casting Leslie Neilsen in there somewhere would be quite appropriate.
I'ld further suggest Robin Williams as C3P0 ("WOAH! Stormtroopers..SHAZBOT!"), Jim Carrey as Obi-Wan (can just imagine Jim Carrey going up to be Alec Guiness), Dame Edna Everage as Padme Amidala, Steve Martin as Darth Maul (no change there really...), John Cleese as the voice of Yoda, Danny DeVito AS Yoda....
....and Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Kevin Spacey taking turns as Jar Jar Binks in each different scene....
Why didn't Darth Lucas think of that casting list 8 years ago, I'ld hate him a lot less than I do now
