Can you get a good cover over a black tattoo with dark green and black ink?
I would want to cover a black tattoo with dark green and black ink if possible. The design is close to tribal, two inches thick in black in a couple places. I was thinking of covering it with a simple design like a black and green atomic bomb (the kind with the tail fins). I just wanted to get an opinion on if this seems like it could be easily done.
Going to a good tattoo artist is the best bet! Look at artist porfolios, because sometimes they will have sections marked off with photos, such as coverups. A good tattoo artist will make a coverup look like it wasn't meant to be a coverup. The key to making the tattoo look simple and not like a cover-up will be in the shading, so make sure the tattoo artist's techniques are good, and most of all make sure their work is good! ...A good tattoo artist will be able to visualize your new tattoo on your body, covering up the old one. And the tattoo artist will more than likely draw the new tattoo on your body himself, without using a stencil. ....Your cover-up should be effortless to a good tattoo artist, otherwise, find someone else. A real artist can visualize and interpret anything. Beware tho, a lot of tattoo artists will jack up their prices especially if they have to custom draw a design for you, or draw the design on your skin.
